Heartonograph is a pintograph that makes art from a user's heart - literally! Using the Microsoft Band, Heartonograph analyzes the user's heartbeat and uses the information to generate the speeds of its two motors. The rotary motions then produce a unique pattern, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for each user.
The idea of Heartonograph started through MakeMIT 2016, a hardware hackathon. Our team of five had approximately 15 hours to build our project. My role was to build the physical structure and mechanisms of the device, which involved laser-cutting, machining, and fabrication skills. In the end, we had a lot of fun and were recognized as one of the top ten teams!
